Indian Oil Approves ₹24,487 Crore Gas Pipeline Project Linking Kerala and Tamil Nadu

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has successfully completed a gas pipeline project linking the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with an investment amounting to ₹2,448.7 crore. This development is expected to enhance the supply of natural gas in the region, thereby facilitating cleaner energy options for industrial, commercial, and residential consumers.

The pipeline stretches for approximately 450 kilometers and is anticipated to benefit numerous areas by providing a reliable source of natural gas, which is a cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuels. The project is part of the Indian governments broader initiative to promote clean energy and reduce carbon emissions.

Officials from Indian Oil stated that the pipeline will not only cater to the rising demand for natural gas in southern India but will also support the governments aim of enhancing connectivity through energy infrastructure. The project aligns with Indias commitment to transitioning towards a more sustainable energy future and is expected to contribute to economic growth in the region.

As part of the investments in energy infrastructure, IOC continues to work on expanding its footprint in the renewable energy sector, including renewable natural gas and green hydrogen initiatives.
