Indias Defense Exports Reach Record ₹38,424 Crore in Fiscal Year 2025-26
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted a significant increase in Indias defence exports, attributing this success to the growing global confidence in the countrys indigenous defence capabilities. In a recent social media statement, Singh emphasized that India is “scripting an impressive defence exports success story.”
This surge in defence exports comes amidst Indias ongoing efforts to enhance its domestic manufacturing capabilities and reduce reliance on foreign arms. The government has implemented various policies to promote the “Make in India” initiative, encouraging both public and private sector participation in the defence manufacturing sector.
In recent years, India has expanded its defence ties with several countries, including the United States, Australia, and certain nations in Southeast Asia, which have been conducive to increasing defence hardware sales. Additionally, participation in international defence exhibitions and collaborations in joint production projects have further solidified Indias position in the global defence market.
As a result, India aims to become one of the top global players in defence exports, with an emphasis on quality and strategic partnerships.
