Indigenous Vayu Astra-1 Successfully Concludes High-Altitude Trials in Uttarakhand and Pokhran

Pune-based Nibe Limited has successfully completed a series of demonstrations showcasing its indigenous loitering munition system, which were conducted without any financial commitments or obligations on the part of the attendees.

Loitering munitions, often referred to as “kamikaze drones,” are a type of weapon that combines the capabilities of drones and conventional munitions, enabling them to loiter over a designated area before executing strikes on targets. These systems are increasingly being adopted globally for their capacity to provide real-time reconnaissance and precision strikes while minimizing collateral damage.

The demonstrations highlight Nibe Limited’s efforts to advance indigenous defense technologies amidst a broader push for self-reliance in Indias defense sector. The company’s initiatives align with the Indian governments Make in India program, which aims to enhance local manufacturing and innovation in defense equipment.

Nibe Limited is focusing on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of defense solutions, marking a significant contribution to the evolving landscape of military technology. The company has not disclosed specific details about the performance outcomes of the demonstrations or potential future engagements with armed forces or defense contractors.
