IndiGo Proposes Crisis Management Plan to Address CCI Investigation into Flight Disruptions
IndiGo Airlines has submitted a series of proposals to the Competition Commission of India (CCI) in response to concerns raised regarding previous flight disruptions and allegations of unfair practices. As part of its commitment to improving customer service and operational transparency, IndiGo plans to establish a dedicated crisis management group designed to effectively handle operational emergencies.
In addition, the airline intends to create a robust passenger grievance mechanism, which will provide a clear avenue for customers to voice their concerns and seek resolutions. As a proactive measure during significant operational disruptions, IndiGo has also proposed to temporarily relinquish some of its airport slots, allowing competitors to utilize these slots and enhance overall service availability for passengers.
The CCI is currently in the process of gathering public feedback on these commitments, inviting comments from stakeholders and the general public. This initiative reflects the CCIs ongoing efforts to ensure fair practices within the aviation sector and to enhance consumer rights.
IndiGo, which has established itself as one of India’s largest low-cost carriers, operates a vast network of domestic and international flights. The airline has faced scrutiny in the past regarding its handling of service disruptions, particularly during peak travel periods. The CCIs consideration of IndiGos proposals highlights the importance of accountability in the airline industry, particularly as air travel demand continues to rise post-pandemic.
