Jaishankar Highlights Seamless Passport Service as Catalyst for Prosperous Viksit Bharat
A senior official from the Ministry of External Affairs recently reported that the number of Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) in India has significantly increased since 2014. At that time, there were only 77 PSKs, whereas the current total has risen to over 545. In addition to these, there are also 454 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras, which have been established to facilitate passport services in more remote and rural areas.
This expansion reflects the Indian governments commitment to improving and streamlining passport services for citizens, enhancing accessibility and efficiency. The network of PSKs plays a crucial role in processing passport applications and supporting citizens in acquiring vital travel documents in a timely manner. Further investments and improvements in technology are expected as the demand for passports continues to grow.
