According to the announcement, primary classes will begin their summer break on June 1, 2026, while students in Classes 6 to 12 will start their holiday on June 8, 2026.

This initiative is intended to safeguard students’ health, as temperatures are anticipated to exceed 43 degrees Celsius, leading to potential heat-related health risks. Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir are taking proactive measures to ensure the well-being of students during this extreme weather.

It’s worth noting that heatwaves have become increasingly common in various parts of India, raising concerns about the impact on educational schedules and student safety. The Education Department emphasizes the importance of adapting to climatic changes to maintain a safe learning environment.
