Jupally BRS Leaders Awaited at Press Club Following Challenge on Telanganas Debts

According to the Excise Minister of Telangana, the states total outstanding liabilities have risen significantly since its formation in June 2014. At that time, the liabilities stood at ₹90,161 crore. By December 1, 2023, when the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) exited office, these liabilities had escalated to ₹8,21,651 crore.

This increase reflects a compound growth in state liabilities, highlighting potential concerns regarding fiscal management over the past nine years. The rise in outstanding liabilities can be attributed to various factors, including state borrowing for funding infrastructure projects, public services, and welfare schemes aimed at supporting the population.

Further analysis is needed to understand the implications of this growth on the states fiscal health and its capacity to manage debt effectively in the future. Additionally, it will be essential to monitor how the incoming administration plans to address these financial challenges as Telangana moves forward.
