Karnataka Establishes Greater Bengaluru Local Planning Area; 303 Villages and Central Pete Excluded from Previous LPA; RMP-2015 to Remain Effective Until New Master Plan Is Implemented

The Karnataka government has officially notified the establishment of the Greater Bengaluru Local Planning Area (GBLPA), a significant development in the urban planning of the region. This new planning area encompasses 303 villages and the Central Pete area, both of which have been detached from the existing Local Planning Area (LPA).

The revised planning structure aims to facilitate better urban management and development in Bengaluru, which has been facing rapid growth and infrastructure challenges. The government has indicated that the Revised Master Plan (RMP-2015) will remain operational and in effect until a new Master Plan is developed and implemented.

This move is part of a broader initiative to streamline planning processes and accommodate the growing population and demands of Bengaluru.
