Karnatakas Deputy CM Parameshwara Responds Within Three Days to IMD Drought Warning
Karnatakas Deputy Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar, has stated that the government took decisive action within three days of receiving a drought warning from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). In a recent statement, he emphasized the administrations commitment to addressing the challenges posed by the impending drought conditions.
The IMD had forecasted potential drought scenarios in certain regions of Karnataka due to insufficient rainfall. In response, the state government has initiated several measures, including assistance to farmers, implementing water conservation strategies, and ensuring adequate supply of drinking water in affected areas.
Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar added that the government is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to take additional steps as necessary to mitigate the impact of drought on agriculture and local communities. This proactive approach aims to support farmers who are particularly vulnerable to fluctuations in weather patterns.
The IMDs warning highlights the importance of preparedness in dealing with climatic irregularities, which have increasingly affected agricultural productivity in various states across India. The Karnataka government’s response reflects ongoing efforts to improve resilience against such environmental challenges.
