Karnataka Government Approves ₹28.47 Crore in Viability Gap Funding to Reestablish Flights from Bengaluru to Bidar and Kalaburagi

The government is actively working to improve air connectivity to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities throughout the state, according to M.B. Patil. This initiative aims to foster regional economic development and support the enhancement of local infrastructure.

Efforts include the potential expansion of airport facilities and the introduction of new flight routes, which will connect smaller cities to major metropolitan areas. By increasing accessibility, these measures are expected to facilitate trade, tourism, and investment opportunities in less urbanized regions. The government believes that improved air transport will be crucial in bridging the economic divide between urban and rural areas, ultimately leading to a more balanced economic growth across the state.
