Karnataka Government Requests RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat to Provide Clarification on Organizations Legal Registration Status

Home Minister Priyank Kharge recently referenced the 2025-2026 report from the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the highest decision-making body of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), highlighting the organizations substantial presence in Karnataka. According to the report, the state hosts 4,127 daily shakhas, which are local branches or meetings for RSS members, along with 1,389 weekly milans, or gatherings. Additionally, the report indicates that there are 60 monthly mandalis, which serve as platforms for discussion and engagement among members.

The RSS, which is a Hindu nationalist organization, plays a significant role in promoting its ideology through community service and cultural programs across India. Its extensive network in Karnataka reflects the organizations ongoing efforts to strengthen its grassroots presence in the region, engaging with local communities and fostering social cohesion. The findings of the report may have implications for the political landscape in the state, particularly as the RSS influences various aspects of society, including education, health, and social initiatives.
