Kerala Chief Minister Attributes Indias Cooking Gas Crisis to Previous Congress and BJP Administrations at the National Level

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has criticized both the Congress Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their past decisions regarding the proposed India-Iran gas pipeline. He stated that their repeated rejections of the project have amounted to a capitulation to American imperialism.

The proposed pipeline, which aimed to transport natural gas from Iran to India via Pakistan, has been a topic of significant geopolitical interest since it was first suggested in the early 2000s. Proponents argue that it could enhance energy security for India and strengthen economic ties with Iran. However, the project has faced numerous hurdles, including security concerns, international sanctions on Iran, and competing interests from other countries in the region.

Vijayan’s remarks highlight the ongoing debate about India’s energy policy and its alignment with global geopolitical dynamics. The Chief Ministers comments come in the context of increasing scrutiny over Indias foreign relations and its approach to energy sourcing in relation to broader environmental and economic objectives.
