KJo and Prince William Address Indias Rain Crisis in Lead-Up to Earthshot Prize

Karan Johar, the prominent Indian filmmaker, met with Prince William in London as part of the lead-up to the 2026 Earthshot Prize event scheduled to take place in Mumbai. During their discussion, the two addressed significant environmental issues affecting India, particularly the challenges posed by inadequate rainfall and the resulting water stress faced by farmers.

Johar highlighted the Earthshot Prizes initiative, which seeks to recognize and support innovative solutions to pressing environmental challenges. He mentioned that 15 finalists have been selected for the prize, and five winning projects will each receive £1 million. This funding is intended to help scale these projects and enhance their impact on a global level.

The Earthshot Prize, launched by Prince William in 2020, aims to inspire innovative solutions to environmental problems, focusing on categories such as restoring nature, cleaning the air, and reviving the oceans. With the upcoming event in Mumbai, the initiative seeks to amplify Indias role in global environmental efforts and address crucial issues like water scarcity and agricultural sustainability.
