Koppal Mango Fair Commences, Showcasing Diverse Selection of Mangoes and Related Products

Koppal District has established itself as a significant hub for mango cultivation, with more than 6,500 hectares dedicated to this fruit. Among the various varieties being grown, the Kesar mango stands out for its increasing popularity among both growers and consumers.

The Kesar mango, known for its unique taste and vibrant color, is often referred to as the “Queen of Mangoes” and is especially valued for its sweetness and fiberless flesh. The rise in mango cultivation in Koppal District is attributed to favorable climatic conditions, improved agricultural practices, and the growing demand for quality mangoes both in domestic and international markets.

Agricultural officials are optimistic that continued investment in mango farming and related infrastructure could further enhance the districts profile in the mango supply chain, benefiting local farmers economically and contributing to the regions agricultural diversity.
