KPTCL Implements Drone Technology for Maintenance of Transmission Lines
The Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) announced that addressing technical defects in its transmission system has resulted in an 85% reduction in power outages related to transmission issues. According to KPTCLs report, the number of incidents has decreased significantly from 519 to just 73 in the corridors that were inspected.
This improvement follows a systematic evaluation and upgrade of infrastructure aimed at enhancing reliability and efficiency in power distribution. KPTCL, which plays a crucial role in ensuring robust electricity supply across Karnataka, emphasized that such measures are part of their ongoing efforts to modernize their transmission networks and minimize disruptions for consumers. The corporation highlighted that continued investments in technology and maintenance would further bolster service reliability.
