Krafton Invests $250 Million in India, Expanding Beyond Gaming

Krafton, the South Korean video game developer best known for its hit game PUBG, has announced plans to invest $250 million in Indian artificial intelligence (AI) and deep technology startups. This investment reflects the companys commitment to expanding its presence in India beyond gaming.

In a significant move, Krafton’s Chairman Byung Gyu Chang recently met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During their discussions, Chang emphasized Kraftons long-term commitment to the Indian market and its vibrant tech ecosystem. The proposed funding comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance collaboration between Krafton and local firms, fostering innovation and growth in emerging technologies.

This new investment follows Kraftons previous commitments, including a planned investment of an additional $500 million. With Indias rapidly growing startup landscape and its focus on technology innovation, Krafton aims to tap into potential growth avenues in the fields of AI and deep tech.

The company’s efforts align with Indias push to become a global hub for technology, as it increasingly promotes initiatives to attract foreign investments in the tech sector. Krafton’s investment could help accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions in India, contributing to both job creation and technological advancements in the region.

As Krafton deepens its engagement in India, it joins other global companies seeking to leverage the talent and innovative spirit within the country’s burgeoning startup ecosystem.
