On May 4, 1957, Mr. Radhakrishnan was born in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. He assumed office as the Vice President of India on September 12, 2022. In his role as Vice President, Mr. Radhakrishnan serves as the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India’s Parliament. He has a background in public service and law, and prior to his vice presidential role, he held various significant positions in government and education. His responsibilities include representing the government in various capacities and performing ceremonial duties, as well as assuming the presidency temporarily in the absence of the President of India.
