Maharashtra Conducts Reshuffle of 25 IAS Officers, Appointing New Collectors and Commissioners in Major Cities

In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Municipal Commissioner G. Shrikant has been transferred to Navi Mumbai. He will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer for the Jal Jeevan Mission, a government initiative aimed at providing safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections.

This transfer comes as part of a broader administrative reshuffle within the Maharashtra government. The Jal Jeevan Mission, launched in 2019, seeks to ensure that every rural household has access to clean drinking water by 2024. Shrikants experience as Municipal Commissioner may bring valuable insights to the implementation of the mission in Navi Mumbai, which has been primarily urban, yet faces challenges related to water supply and infrastructure.

His predecessors tenure in Navi Mumbai involved crucial developments in water management, and stakeholders will look to Shrikant for continuity and innovation in addressing these ongoing issues.
