Maharashtra Government Implements Reshuffle of 25 IAS Officers, Appointing New Collectors and Commissioners in Key Cities
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Municipal Commissioner G. Shrikant has been reassigned to Navi Mumbai. In his new role, he will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a government initiative aimed at providing sustainable water supply to rural households across India.
The Jal Jeevan Mission was launched in 2019 by the Indian government with the objective of ensuring that every rural household has access to piped drinking water. This initiative is critical for improving public health and sanitation, supporting economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life in rural areas.
G. Shrikants extensive experience in municipal administration is expected to contribute significantly to the mission’s goals. His transition to this new position comes at a time when the Jal Jeevan Mission is pushing forward with its ambitious plans to achieve universal access to clean water in rural India by 2024.
