Mahindra Expands Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Ownership Program to New Electric Vehicle Models

Mahindra has announced the addition of its new electric vehicle models, the XEV 9e and XEV 9s, to its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership scheme. This initiative aims to make electric vehicles (EVs) more accessible by allowing customers to purchase vehicles without the upfront cost of the battery, instead opting for a monthly subscription model for battery usage.

The BaaS program, which is part of Mahindras broader strategy to promote EV adoption, offers significant savings for buyers, especially in the price-sensitive Indian market. By decoupling the cost of the battery from the price of the vehicle, Mahindra is positioning the XEV 9e and XEV 9s in a compelling price range of ₹12-15 lakh. This price point makes these models highly competitive among electric SUVs.

Further enhancing the appeal of Mahindras electric vehicles, all future EVs under the brand will feature Google Gemini technology by January 2027, providing advanced AI-driven functionalities and features.

Additionally, Mahindra is set to unveil the booking and delivery process for the BE 6 SPORTEQ in 2026, ensuring that customers have a streamlined experience when acquiring their vehicles.
