Majority of NDA Voters Oppose E20 Fuel; Concerns Over Vehicle Damage Highlighted in C-Voter Survey

According to a recent survey conducted by C-Voter, a significant majority of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) voters, approximately 53%, express disapproval of E20 petrol, a new fuel variant containing 20% ethanol. Furthermore, about 50% of respondents voiced concerns regarding potential damage to their vehicles that may arise from using this fuel.

E20 is part of Indias initiative to promote biofuels and reduce dependence on fossil fuels, aiming to enhance environmental sustainability and energy security. However, the survey results highlight a notable apprehension among vehicle owners, who remain skeptical about the performance and compatibility of E20 with their existing vehicles.

The introduction of E20 petrol, which is expected to become more prevalent as part of India’s push towards greener fuels by 2025, could impact compliance as vehicle manufacturers and consumers adapt to new fuel standards.
