Minister Encourages Tobacco Buyers to Keep Prices Above ₹200 per Kg

In a recent meeting, Gottipati Ravi Kumar emphasized the importance of ensuring that all registered companies actively participate in the bidding process for agricultural produce. He instructed officials to closely monitor auction centers to prevent scenarios where farmers either receive insufficient bids or do not receive any bids at all. This initiative aims to protect farmers interests and promote fair pricing for their products.

Kumars directives come in response to concerns about the effectiveness of the current auction system, which has faced criticism for failing to provide adequate opportunities for farmers to sell their goods at competitive prices. By holding companies accountable and ensuring robust participation in the bidding process, the administration hopes to enhance market access for farmers and improve overall agricultural profitability.

The auction centers are a critical link between farmers and the market, and it is essential that they operate transparently and efficiently to support the livelihoods of those in the agricultural sector. Kumars call for vigilance and engagement reflects a broader objective to strengthen the agricultural economy and provide a fair market environment for producers.
