Minister Reports Increased APSRTC Occupancy Rate Due to Stree Shakti and Divyang Shakti Schemes

During a recent press conference at the Secretariat, Ramprasad Reddy, a spokesperson for the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), announced that the organizations occupancy ratio has increased significantly, rising from 69% to 92%. This improvement has been attributed to two new initiatives implemented by the corporation.

While specific details regarding the initiatives were not disclosed, Reddy emphasized their positive impact on service efficiency and customer satisfaction. The APSRTC, which plays a crucial role in public transportation across Andhra Pradesh, aims to enhance its services continually and increase ridership.

In recent years, the APSRTC has introduced various measures, including upgraded bus services, enhanced scheduling, and improved customer engagement through digital platforms. With the rise in occupancy, it is expected that these improvements will contribute to the organization’s financial sustainability and better serve the commuting needs of the population.

This upward trend in occupancy also reflects a broader recovery in public transit usage following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As more people return to using public transportation, APSRTC is planning further initiatives to maintain and potentially increase this growth in occupancy rates.
