Monsoon Update: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms for Mumbai

According to a forecast released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8 a.m. today, Mumbai is expected to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by a predominantly cloudy sky. The IMD has also indicated a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in isolated areas throughout the city.

This weather pattern aligns with the seasonal monsoon trends typically observed in Mumbai during this time of year, which generally runs from June to September. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially those planning outdoor activities, as heavy downpours can lead to waterlogging and traffic disruptions in various parts of the city.

In addition to the rainfall, the IMD has cautioned that conditions may lead to temporary interruptions in power supply and impact local infrastructure. The government and local agencies are on alert to respond to any emergencies that may arise from the adverse weather conditions.
