Monsoon Expected to Arrive in Kerala Around June 4, According to IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating that an upper-air cyclonic circulation located off the south Kerala coast is likely to enhance rainfall activity in the region. Over the next six to seven days, isolated areas in Kerala can expect heavy to very heavy rainfall.

This weather pattern is attributed to the prevailing monsoon conditions, which play a crucial role in delivering significant precipitation to the state, especially during this time of year. The IMD has advised residents to remain vigilant, as such rain could lead to localized flooding and landslides in susceptible areas.

Historically, Kerala experiences intense monsoon rains, which are vital for agriculture but can also pose challenges due to urban flooding and infrastructure strain. The government and disaster management agencies are on alert to respond to any emergencies that may arise from the anticipated weather changes.
