Monsoon Update: Rainfall Recorded in Parts of Delhi; El Niño Conditions Contribute to Low Monsoon Activity in Andhra Pradesh

The monsoon weather patterns in Andhra Pradesh have shown a notable decline in rainfall activity, as per the latest reports. From June 1 to June 14, 2023, 17 of the states 28 districts experienced below-average precipitation levels. This trend raises concerns, particularly for agricultural sectors that heavily depend on consistent monsoon rains for crop cultivation.

Experts indicate that this deficiency in rainfall could impact the regions agrarian economy and water supply. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is monitoring the situation closely and is expected to provide updated forecasts and recommendations for farmers facing crop stress due to insufficient rainfall. Additionally, the potential for a delayed onset of the monsoon season might further affect water availability and agricultural productivity in the months ahead.
