Mumbai University Faces Criticism for Implementing AI Technologies in Academic Resource Development

Mumbai Universitys Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) is facing criticism following student claims that artificial intelligence technology was used to generate content for its MA Psychology study materials. In response to these allegations, the university stated that the use of AI was minimal, constituting less than 10% of the overall content. The university specified that AI was employed primarily for grammar correction, language enhancement, readability improvements, and editorial support, and noted that this use was transparently communicated by the developers involved.

In light of the concerns raised, CDOE has established a committee tasked with verifying the study materials and thoroughly investigating the issue. This committee will evaluate the extent of AIs involvement and recommend further actions based on their findings. The university emphasizes its commitment to maintaining educational standards and ensuring the integrity of its instructional resources.
