Myanmar President Aung Hlaing Commences Official Visit to India
Mr. Aung Hlaing commenced his visit with an arrival in Gaya, India, where he toured the Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a significant pilgrimage location for Buddhists worldwide. The temple is renowned for its 1,500-year-old architecture and houses a sacred fig tree, believed to be a direct descendant of the tree under which Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment.
Following this visit, he is scheduled to travel to New Delhi, where he is likely to engage in diplomatic discussions and meetings with Indian officials. The trip highlights the ongoing relationship between Myanmar and India, which involves cultural exchanges as well as strategic partnerships in regional security and economic cooperation.
