Naidu Reports ₹65,887 Crore Granted for Social Welfare Pensions Since July 2024
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced the allocation of ₹2,729 crore for pensions aimed at supporting 62.34 lakh beneficiaries during the Pedala Sevalo program held in the Tuni constituency. The initiative is part of the governments ongoing efforts to provide financial assistance to vulnerable populations, including the elderly and disabled residents.
In addition to this pension allocation, Naidu mentioned that financial assistance under the Thalliki Vandanam scheme is scheduled to be disbursed shortly after schools reopen. This scheme is designed to provide educational support to families, helping to alleviate the financial burden associated with schooling expenses.
The announcement comes as part of a broader strategy by the Andhra Pradesh government to enhance social welfare and support to its residents, particularly in times of economic difficulty. The Pedala Sevalo program seeks to directly engage with communities, ensuring that benefits and resources are effectively communicated and distributed.
