Nearly 46,000 Children Receive Pulse Polio Vaccination in Wayanad

The District Medical Office (DMO) reported that 88% of eligible children in the district received vaccinations on the inaugural day of the campaign. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance immunization coverage and protect children from preventable diseases.

Health officials have emphasized the importance of vaccination in preventing outbreaks and safeguarding public health. The campaign aims to reach all eligible children in the district over the coming weeks. Community outreach efforts are being employed to educate parents about the benefits of immunization and ensure that even more children are vaccinated in subsequent days.

The success of the first day is being celebrated as a positive step toward achieving the districts overall health goals. Officials are closely monitoring progress and encouraging participation from all eligible families.
