Nirmala Sitharaman Unveils BJP Manifesto for Assam Assembly Elections
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, which are set to take place on April 23, 2024. Additionally, the ECI has released information regarding the first phase of polling for the Assembly elections in West Bengal, also slated for the same date.
These elections are critical, as they will determine the composition of the state legislatures in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, two regions with significant political activity. Tamil Nadu has a rich political history, with major parties such as the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) contesting for power, while West Bengal has seen intense competition between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in recent years.
The ECI emphasized the importance of free and fair elections, encouraging all eligible voters to participate in the democratic process. Voter awareness campaigns are expected to be launched ahead of the elections to facilitate informed voting in both states.
