Nitin Gadkari Announces Rs 61,500 Crore Highway Project to Connect Siliguri, Guwahati, and Shillong

The Indian Ministry of Road Transport has launched a major infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and the North Eastern states. This project, which is projected to cost approximately Rs 61,500 crore, includes the development of a high-speed expressway linking Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh to Siliguri in West Bengal.

The expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve trade and tourism between these regions. Once completed, it will facilitate seamless transportation of goods and services, thereby boosting the local economies. The project not only emphasizes the governments commitment to enhancing road infrastructure but also aims to promote regional development and integration.

In addition to this expressway, further plans for infrastructure expansion in the area may be under consideration, reflecting a broader strategy to improve connectivity across the country. More details are expected to be released as the project progresses.
