NSA Doval Engages with BRICS Counterparts to Discuss West Asia and India-China Relations
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced that National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani, also known as Nezamipour, to discuss the current situation in West Asia. The two officials reviewed regional developments and explored avenues for cooperation within the BRICS framework, as well as strengthening bilateral ties between India and Iran. This dialogue underscores Indias ongoing engagement with Iran amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in the region.
Additionally, the MEA reported that Doval held discussions with Chinas Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The two sides acknowledged the strides made towards the gradual normalization of diplomatic relations. This meeting reflects an effort to address areas of mutual concern and to enhance cooperation in various sectors, which is crucial for stabilizing the broader Asia-Pacific region.
