One Year After AI-171 Crash, Pilots Family Seeks Clarity on Final Investigation Report Delay

The Federation of Indian Pilots has called on relevant authorities to refrain from releasing an incomplete interim report regarding the crash that occurred in June 2025. They express concerns that an early and incomplete report may lead to unwarranted speculation regarding the causes of the incident. Meanwhile, officials have indicated that the delay in publication is partly due to ongoing analysis by General Electric, the engine manufacturer, which is currently evaluating data from the AI-171 engines involved in the incident.

The Federation has emphasized the importance of a thorough and comprehensive investigation to ensure accurate conclusions regarding the crash, which is critical for maintaining public trust and safety in the aviation sector. The crash, which has drawn significant attention, has raised questions about aviation safety practices, maintenance protocols, and aircraft engineering standards. As investigations continue, stakeholders in the aviation industry are monitoring these developments closely.
