Overnight Rain and Thunderstorms Result in Lower Temperatures in Delhi
Heavy rainfall affected various regions in Delhi late last night through the early morning hours. Safdarjung recorded approximately 5.7 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours leading up to 8:30 AM on Monday, while Palam registered a similar amount of around 5.7 mm.
This weather event is part of the ongoing monsoon season in Delhi, which typically runs from June to September. The recent rains can contribute to fluctuations in temperature and relief from the heat, yet they also bring concerns regarding waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic disruptions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), further rainfall is expected in the coming days, which may impact daily activities and infrastructure in the capital. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions.
