Pattabiram Residents Advocate for Restricted Subway Use Under ROB

As of September 2024, one carriageway of the six-lane Rail Over Bridge (ROB) at Pattabiram has been operational, allowing vehicular traffic to use this critical infrastructure. However, it has been noted that there is currently no dedicated provision for slow-moving vehicles to cross at Level Crossing No. 2, located near the railway siding.

This situation has raised concerns among local commuters and residents, as the absence of a designated passage for slower vehicles could lead to traffic congestion and safety issues at the crossing. The ROB serves as a vital connection in the region, aimed at improving transportation and reducing travel times by providing an alternate route over the railway tracks.

Authorities may need to consider implementing measures such as signage, designated lanes, or even a separate slow-moving vehicle crossing to enhance the flow of traffic and ensure safety for all road users. Further updates on any planned improvements or additional infrastructure developments in this area are awaited from local transportation authorities.
