PM Modi Supports Implementation of Ayushman Bharat Scheme in West Bengal

Under the Indian governments flagship health initiative, eligible households can receive health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh annually. This program aims to reduce the financial burden of medical expenses and enhance access to healthcare services for disadvantaged populations.

The scheme, part of the broader Ayushman Bharat initiative, seeks to target low-income families, ensuring they receive necessary medical treatment without incurring significant out-of-pocket expenses. As of recent reports, over 10 crore families have registered under this scheme, enabling them to access a range of healthcare services, including hospitalization for various critical and chronic conditions.

The government has partnered with numerous private and public hospitals to facilitate treatment and ensure that beneficiaries receive timely medical care. In addition, efforts are being made to raise awareness about the program and assist families in navigating the healthcare system effectively.
