PM Modi to Inaugurate Rs 5,640-Crore International Airport in Andhra Pradesh

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, marking a significant development in regional infrastructure. The airport, which is designed to accommodate six million passengers per year, aims to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.

In addition to the airport inauguration, the Prime Minister is set to lay the foundation stones for various development projects totaling over ₹17,900 crores (approximately $2.2 billion). Among these initiatives is Andhra Pradeshs first semiconductor manufacturing facility, which is expected to play a crucial role in the tech supply chain and promote investment in the state.

The development of the airport and the semiconductor facility align with the Indian governments broader goals of improving infrastructure, attracting foreign investment, and fostering economic resilience, particularly in high-tech industries.
