Prakash Karat Comments on SDPIs Support for LDF in Kerala Assembly Elections
A senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) has reiterated the partys stance on its political alliances, emphasizing that the CPI(M) does not engage with groups characterized as communal or extremist. The leader stated, “The policy is clear in not having any understanding with organizations that are communal or extremist in character.” Furthermore, the leader asserted that the party maintains a commitment to collective leadership, dismissing any notions of a “personality cult” within its ranks.
This declaration comes amidst ongoing discussions about political alliances in the context of upcoming elections. The CPI(M), which has historically positioned itself against communal politics, has been focusing on reinforcing its ideological principles while navigating a complex political landscape in India.
The partys emphasis on collective decision-making and democratic processes also reflects its foundational beliefs in Marxist-Leninist principles, which advocate for a leadership model that prioritizes the partys collective vision over individual personalities. This stance is particularly relevant as various political parties in India grapple with issues related to identity politics and coalition building.
