Prime Minister Modi Launches Delhi-Dehradun Expressway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an inspection of the wildlife corridor located within the elevated section of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor. This initiative aims to enhance ecological sustainability while facilitating transportation and economic development between the two cities.

During his visit, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of protecting wildlife habitats while pursuing infrastructure projects. The wildlife corridor is designed to allow animals safe passage across the busy corridor, thereby reducing instances of wildlife-vehicle collisions and preserving biodiversity in the region.

In addition to the inspection, Prime Minister Modi also held a roadshow in Saharanpur, a city in Uttar Pradesh known for its woodcraft and agricultural products. The roadshow aimed to bolster local support and engage with residents, highlighting the governments commitment to regional development and infrastructure initiatives.

The Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor is part of a broader plan to improve connectivity in northern India, and it is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. The project is part of the governments larger focus on enhancing economic activity and improving transport linkages across the country.
