Rahul and Kharge Express Reservations About Independence Day Seating Arrangement, Sources Claim Government Highlighted BJP Leaders Seating Under UPA
Congress Leaders Skip Independence Day Event for Second Consecutive Year
Senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge did not attend the Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort this year, marking the second consecutive year they have skipped the event. Sources reveal that both leaders were reportedly “unconvinced” by their seating arrangements, drawing comparisons with how opposition leaders from previous governments were seated.
The absences have sparked various reactions among political circles. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized Gandhis decision to skip the event, labeling it a “Dimaagi Naxal mindset,” suggesting that the former Congress leaders actions reflect a radical mindset that does not align with national interests.
In a statement during related discussions, Kharge emphasized the challenges faced by the youth in the current environment, attributing their struggles to the “wrong policies” of the Modi government. He argued that these policies have led the youth towards negative pathways, urging a reevaluation of governance strategies to better address employment and societal issues.
This year’s Independence Day celebrations were attended by various political leaders across parties, as well as dignitaries and citizens, featuring traditional ceremonies including the Prime Ministers flag-hoisting and a speech outlining the governments achievements and future goals.
Political analysts suggest that the continued absence of significant opposition figures raises questions about the dynamics between the ruling party and opposition, particularly in terms of civility and representation in significant national events.
