Raids Conducted at 64 Bengaluru PGs Reveal Expired Items and Pest Control Products Found Near Food

Food Safety Violations Identified in Bengaluru: Raids at Multiple Establishments

In a recent crackdown on food safety violations, officials in Bengaluru conducted inspections across various establishments, including 64 paying guest (PG) accommodations and a private club. During these inspections, a range of alarming hygiene issues were uncovered, prompting immediate action from health authorities.

Reports indicate that some PGs were found to have expired food items on their premises, including curd, and even bed bug powder found stored next to food items. These findings raise significant concerns about the safety and hygiene of food being served to residents.

In a similar operation, the Chairmans Club in Bengaluru was temporarily shut down after 40 kilograms of expired chilies were seized due to safety violations. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) noted “glaring food safety violations” not only at the Chairmans Club but also across several PGs, highlighting a widespread issue of neglect in food safety protocols.

The FDA is actively addressing these concerns by working with local health inspectors to ensure that all food served in these establishments meets safety standards. The inspections are part of a larger initiative to enhance food safety regulations and protect consumers in Bengaluru from health risks associated with improper food handling.

Local health officials emphasize the importance of maintaining strict hygiene practices in food establishments, urging residents to report any suspected violations to help improve food safety across the city.
