Rajnath Singh: Trust in Made-in-India Defense Platforms Strengthened Following Operation Sindoor
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted significant growth in Indias defense production during a recent event, stating that it has reached over ₹1.78 lakh crore. He emphasized that this marks a substantial increase from approximately ₹46,000 crore recorded about eight to nine years ago.
This substantial rise in defense production can be attributed to various initiatives launched by the government to boost indigenous manufacturing, particularly under the “Make in India” program. The increase in production capability reflects Indias commitment to enhancing its self-reliance in defense and reducing dependency on imports.
The government has also been investing in research and development, creating partnerships with private sector players, and encouraging foreign investment in defense manufacturing to further strengthen the countrys defense infrastructure. Additionally, the ongoing modernization efforts within the armed forces aim to ensure readiness and technological advancement in a rapidly changing global security environment.
