A red alert has been announced across all coastal districts of Kerala as the state braces for strong waves and a significant swell surge. The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has issued this alert in anticipation of hazardous sea conditions, advising fishermen and residents to take appropriate precautions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that the rough sea conditions will persist, with wave heights forecasted to reach between 3 to 5 meters. These conditions are attributed to factors including the influence of the current weather systems in the Arabian Sea.

Authorities have urged local fishermen to refrain from venturing out to sea and have recommended that coastal residents stay away from the shorelines. The state government is actively monitoring the situation and has put emergency services on standby.
