Sales of the Renowned Tirumala Laddu Experience Significant Increase in May

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has reported a record sale of 1.21 crore laddus during the recent month, outperforming last years total of 1.10 crore laddus sold during the same period. This increase indicates a significant rise in the number of pilgrims visiting the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati.

The surge in laddu sales is believed to be indicative of growing interest in temple activities and religious tourism in the region. The temple, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and annual festivals, attracts millions of devotees from across India and worldwide. The TTD has been implementing various initiatives to enhance the pilgrimage experience, including improvements in facilities and services for visitors.

In addition to increased laddu sales, the TTD has noted a corresponding uptick in overall pilgrim footfall, reflecting the temples sustained popularity and the ongoing post-pandemic recovery in tourism. The laddus, which are made of rice flour and are a traditional offering at the temple, are a significant part of the temple’s operations and serve as a symbol of the religious experience for many devotees.
