Samiti Proposes Annual Recognition of Article 371(J) Day in Seven Districts of Kalyana Karnataka

The Kalyana Karnataka Horata Samiti has announced the establishment of an annual commemoration known as Article 371(J) Day, which will be observed across the seven districts of Kalyana Karnataka. This decision came during a recent meeting, where members discussed the importance of raising awareness regarding the constitutional provision that grants special status to the region.

Article 371(J) of the Indian Constitution provides for the establishment of mechanisms to address the socio-economic development of the traditionally marginalized areas of Kalyana Karnataka. This provision aims to promote equitable opportunities for education, employment, and local governance within these districts.

In addition to the annual observance, the Samiti plans to organize a series of awareness programs aimed at educating the public about the significance and benefits of Article 371(J). These initiatives seek to engage local communities, stakeholders, and government officials in discussions about the implications of the article and how it can be leveraged for the regions development.

Kalyana Karnataka, which encompasses districts such as Kalaburagi, Raichur, Bidar, and Yadgir, among others, has been historically identified as needing special attention due to its unique challenges and developmental needs. The observance of Article 371(J) Day reflects a growing effort to advocate for the rights and opportunities of the residents in this region.
