Sanjay Gupta Criticizes FWICEs Ban on Ranveer Singh

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has publicly criticized the Film Workers Federation of India (FWICE) following its decision to impose a ban on actor Ranveer Singh. Gupta contended that the ban negatively impacts the livelihoods of approximately 300 workers associated with the film industry.

The FWICEs ban came after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar alleged that Singhs abrupt exit from the upcoming film “Don 3” resulted in significant financial losses, estimated at Rs 45 crore, during the projects pre-production phase.

This incident highlights ongoing challenges in the Indian film industry, where production schedules and financial investments can be severely affected by changes in key personnel. It also raises questions about the potential repercussions of such bans on the broader industry workforce and the fragile dynamics within film production. As discussions continue, stakeholders in the film community are watching closely to evaluate the implications for both artists and crew members.
