School Timings in Jammu and Kashmir Adjusted Due to Cold Weather; New Schedule Available

In response to the ongoing cold weather conditions, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has announced a change in school timings for the region. This adjustment aims to ensure the safety and comfort of students during the chilly months.

Starting from November 1, 2023, schools in Jammu will begin their sessions at 10:00 AM and conclude at 3:00 PM. Meanwhile, in the Kashmir division, the new schedule will see schools opening at 10:30 AM and closing at 3:30 PM. This decision was made to help students avoid the harsh morning temperatures, which can be particularly severe during this time of year.

The administration emphasized that the revised timings will remain in effect until further notice, allowing for flexibility depending on weather conditions. Parents and guardians are encouraged to ensure that their children are adequately dressed for the cold, as temperatures can drop significantly, especially in the mornings.

This change in school hours is part of a broader effort by the local government to prioritize the health and well-being of students during the winter months. The administration has also urged schools to communicate these changes effectively to parents and students to avoid any confusion.

As winter progresses, the Jammu and Kashmir administration will continue to monitor weather conditions and may make further adjustments to school timings as necessary. This proactive approach aims to create a safe and conducive learning environment for all students in the region.

Parents and students are advised to stay informed about any updates regarding school schedules and to prepare accordingly for the winter season. The administration remains committed to ensuring that education continues smoothly while prioritizing the safety of students amidst the cold weather challenges.
