Secunderabad Cantonments Sewer Network to Undergo ₹246 Crore Revitalization

In 2010, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) completed the installation of trunk sewer lines with diameters exceeding 300 mm in the Secunderabad Cantonment area. This initiative was part of a collaborative project funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), aimed at enhancing the wastewater management system in the region.

The project sought to improve sanitation, reduce environmental pollution, and promote public health by providing a more efficient and reliable sewage disposal system. Since its implementation, the sewer lines have played a critical role in supporting the growing population of Secunderabad Cantonment, addressing challenges related to urban water management, and ensuring the sustainability of water resources in the area. Further developments and maintenance of the sewer system continue to be overseen by HMWSSB to meet the evolving needs of the community.
