Seven Infants Received at Ammathottil in Kozhikode Over Nine-Month Period

The Kerala State Council for Child Welfare, in conjunction with Sisu Vikas Bhavan, has implemented a mobile application alert system to enhance responsiveness in child welfare practices. Upon the discovery of an abandoned child in a cradle, the district secretary of the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare and the district manager of Sisu Vikas Bhavan receive immediate notifications via the app.

This innovative system empowers hospital staff to carry out preliminary health assessments on the child, ensuring that vital health indicators are examined swiftly before adoption procedures begin. The initiative aims to improve the safety and well-being of vulnerable children, streamline the adoption process, and ensure that they receive proper medical care from the outset. This mobile app feature is part of a broader effort to enhance child welfare services across Kerala, where authorities are increasingly using technology to facilitate timely interventions for at-risk children.
